Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 11100 Plumpoint

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 11100 Plumpoint Drive about 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday (Sept. 1).

The suspect, Javed Shakeen Linton (b/m, DOB: 1-16-85), is charged with murder in the 209^th State District Court.  A photo of Linton is attached to this news release.

The victim, James Sias, 29, of Houston, suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the back and was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant B. Harris and Senior Police Officer M. Waters reported:

The victim, Mr. Sias, was seated in the driver’s seat of his vehicle when he was shot in the back.  Sias then tried to drive away from the above address, but crashed into a fence and died. 

Witness statements and further investigation led to the identification of Linton as a suspect in this case and, on Thursday (Sept. 2), he was arrested without incident.
