Our primary goal is to spotlight Houston City Government. Uninterrupted coverage of City Council meetings and many other meetings that show democracy in action in City Hall is our highest priority here at HTV. Houston Television (HTV) is a vibrant and dynamic television station serving the City of Houston and surrounding communities. The mission of HTV is to effectively communicate to the public relevant information concerning municipal, governmental and community services. HTV has embarked on an ambitious technological upgrade to move quickly into the digital computer web based environment, which includes live-streamed broadcast, archived programs accessible as on demand clips and podcast. In addition, for the first time HTV will allow sponsorship opportunities creating a new revenue source and program content. We offer 24 hour live streaming and on demand programming on the web. Houstonians are accessing city council meetings, committee meetings, specialty programming 24 hours a day. By increasing our web presence; more and more citizens outside our coverage area are able to view and participate in our city’s government. In the coming year, we will delve into social media, expanding our horizons to people around the world, showcasing our city government. |
