Arrest of HFD Captain Saul Fiszer, with correction |

On January 11, 2012, The Houston Fire Department (HFD) was notified by the Houston Police Department (HPD) that Captain Saul Fiszer was the subject of an investigation being conducted by their department. On January 24, 2012, charges were filed and Captain Fiszer was arrested by HPD on three felony counts of possession of child pornography. "We, as a department, take these allegations very seriously. As a result of these allegations, I have opened up an Internal Affairs investigation that will run concurrently with HPD’s ongoing criminal investigation," said Fire Chief Terry Garrison. Captain Fiszer is an 18 year veteran of HFD, beginning his career in April 1994. He was assigned to station 21 (corrected) on the “C” shift. Captain Fiszer was relieved of duty with pay pending the results of on-going investigation, however, just before 11 a.m. this morning, Captain Fiszer signed his papers for resignation and is no longer employed by the Houston Fire Department. ###
